Storyline

Case Walker has been back in the world of professional mixed martial arts fighting for two years, but he has grown tired of it. He now competes in amateur bouts to teach his opponents how to use their abilities. The case runs into Brody James, an old friend who is also an MMA fighter, after such a match in Beaumont, Texas. Brody has signed with PFC Combat, a Hugo Vega-run promotion, to fight the 7-foot beast, Caesar Braga, for the PFC Championship in Bangkok. Brody asks Case to assist him in training for the fight, knowing that Case needs to find his way back as well as assist Brody in staying on the straight and narrow. Case accepts Brody's offer and travels to Thailand reluctantly.

The Case visits the Top Fight Gym, where he encounters opposition from Brody's other trainer, Matty Ramos. To make matters worse, Cobra O'Connor, a younger fighter whose arrogance gets the best of him, mocks Case for his training. During a challenge, Case deflects Cobra's moves and uses Kyokushin elements to knock Cobra out. The Case soon finds himself mentoring two aspiring fighters, Taj and Creech. Case's thrashing of Cobra catches the attention of Vega, who is revealed to have a history with Case. PFC marketing director Myca Cruz develops feelings for Case and invites him on a date to get to know him better, to which he agrees.

Matty observes Case and Myca on their date and decides to use it against Case when it comes to Brody. Brody's training has slowed, and Vega, in order to make the fight a success, suggests that Brody use steroids from his supplier to help him better himself. Matty tells Brody about Myca and Case, who has a date that ends abruptly when Myca brings up Case's time in prison, making him very uncomfortable. When Brody offers to spar with Case, the session quickly escalates as Brody goes too far, hitting Case in the head, to which Case retaliates in an unexpected way. Despite Brody's apology, their friendship appears to be over.

That is until Case discovers Brody is abusing steroids. Case and Brody go out to eat one night after training. It is at this point that Brody realizes his error and apologizes. He promises Case that he will do things correctly and even suggests that Myca would be a good woman for him. Brody and Case collaborate to begin training for the fight, as does Matty, who, thanks to Brody's intervention, agrees to work with Case in training Brody for the title fight. However, viral footage of Case beating up racist cops from two years ago has captured the attention of many, prompting Vega to realize that Brody may not be the one worthy of the fight against Braga.

Boris, a Sambo wrestler, injures Brody's knee during training. The case reveals that he had secretly substituted baby aspirin and other placebo drugs for Brody's steroids. The case is offered a million dollars to compete against Braga. Taj confronts Case, accusing him of "selling out" as he begins to train for the fight under the mentorship of Brody and physical training from Matty. Case's suspicions are confirmed the next day when he breaks into Boris' locker and discovers a text message from Vega that says, "It's done." Case understands that he is forced to fight, but he must find a way to stop both Braga and Vega, who stand to profit handsomely from the fight and prove that he is to blame for Brody's injury.

Myca, Case's girlfriend, tells Vega she's quitting the night of the fight. Case realizes he can stop Vega and begins a fight outside the ring with Braga. When Braga outwits Case, he resorts to Kyokushin once more, this time with a Nakadaka Ken (Extended Middle Knuckle Punch) that damages Braga's ribs. The Case continues to use traditional karate techniques, knocking out Braga with a Kaiten Geri (Rolling Wheel Kick) to the head. Vega threatens to sue, but Case informs him that they have proof of his involvement in Brody's injury and that suing could cost Vega millions of dollars. To make matters worse, Vega is forced to repay everyone who came to watch the fight, which he does in rage, knowing he has been defeated. Case, Myca, Brody, and their team leave the ring arena knowing they have won.
